De Grendel walked away with an incredible three awards at the CWSA 2018. Both the De Grendel Amandelboord Pinotage 2016 and the De Grendel Shiraz 2016 won Gold, and the De Grendel Rubaiyat 2015 won Double Gold, and was additionally named the South African Wine of the Year, a coveted trophy award.

De Grendel is proud to announce that we received 2 amazing awards from the 2018 Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show that took place this week. The De Grendel Amandelboord Pinotage 2016 won the Best Pinotage Trophy while the De Grendel Koetshuis Sauvignon Blanc 2017 won a Gold medal. De Grendel placed second in the competition overall.
Harvest 2018: From strength to strength
Life can sometimes throw you a curveball, but often, the challenge isn’t as daunting as it initially seems, and can pleasantly surprise you. This turned out to be the case with De Grendel’s 2018 harvest. Having entered one of the worst droughts in Cape Town’s, De Grendel experienced an amazing crop that was 35% bigger than last year, due to supplementary irrigation in critical times.
