Shipping policy

By law, De Grendel Wines (Pty) Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “De Grendel” or “us” or “we”) may only deliver packages containing wine to an adult aged 18 years or over. Shipments will not be delivered if the recipient is not 18 years of age, or does not have an acceptable form of identification such as an identity document, driver’s license, passport or birth certificate.

Delivery will usually occur on business days during business hours. If no one is available at your requested delivery address when the products you have ordered are delivered, the courier will retain the products and will arrange an alternative delivery date. De Grendel is not liable for any loss occasioned by any delay in the delivery of any order.

By law, De Grendel may only deliver products to physical addresses and not to Post Office boxes.

Please note that the online wine sales from this store are only for South African customers for delivery to an address in South Africa. For wine orders outside of South Africa please visit our International Agents page and get in contact with one of our agents.

Delivery cost is calculated per order based on the number of bottles ordered. De Grendel recommends ordering in multiples of 6, as this reduces the risk of breakages. Free delivery applies to online orders of 12 or more bottles of De Grendel wine.

Please note that promotional items do not qualify for free delivery unless otherwise stated. 

A delivery fee of R200.00 is charged per online order of fewer than 12 bottles in all provinces in South Africa. Shipping is free in South Africa for all orders of 12 bottles or more. Delivery fees are subject to change without prior notice.

Shipping and delivery are estimated based on the availability of the products you ordered and receipt of your payment. Orders are confirmed by email. Delivery usually takes between 2 and 7 working days depending on your location and may take up to 10 working days in outlying areas.

Vintages for wines are subject to change without prior notice.
