Shaped by Elevation and Climate
The Op Die Berg collection showcases wines defined by elevation, climate, and time. Grown on the Ceres Plateau, one of the highest vineyard regions in South Africa at around 1 000 metres above sea level, these wines benefit from long, slow ripening, warm days, and icy nights that preserve freshness and build natural structure.
The result is a refined expression of place, offering clarity of fruit, vibrant acidity, and a poised, elegant finish that defines the Op Die Berg range.
This selection includes the Op Die Berg Chardonnay, Op Die Berg Pinot Noir and Op Die Berg Syrah.

Where Elevation Changes Everything
High on the Ceres Plateau, at elevations approaching 1 000 metres above sea level, the Op Die Berg vineyards sit in one of South Africa’s most extreme and distinctive winegrowing environments. In winter, the vineyards are often blanketed in snow, while the growing season is shaped by warm summer days, icy nights, and a slow, deliberate pace of ripening.
These conditions preserve natural acidity and allow flavour to develop with precision rather than haste. Combined with clean mountain air, low disease pressure, and well-drained shale soils with excellent water-holding capacity, the result is fruit of exceptional purity, balance, and a clear sense of place.
Op Die Berg Chardonnay
Elegant and expressive, with vibrant citrus, white peach, and subtle hazelnut notes, underpinned by minerality and crisp acidity.
Enjoy with roast chicken, grilled line fish or creamy mushroom risotto.
Op Die Berg Pinot Noir
Delicate aromas of wild strawberries, cherries, and earthy spice, carried by silky tannins and lingering freshness.
Perfect alongside duck, seared tuna or a wild mushroom dish.
Op Die Berg Syrah
Ripe red and black berries layered with pepper, violet, and a touch of smoke, with refined tannins and elegant structure.
Pair with grilled lamb, beef short ribs or hearty winter stews.
