Whether you're a fan of Valentine's Day or not, there's something pretty heartwarming about taking some time out once a year to reflect on the people that mean the most to you. Our choice of course is to enjoy the 14th with De Grendel wines. Here are some (different) ways to do so:
#1 Toast To Your Love on Table Mountain
Did you know that the Graaff family of De Grendel played an important role in financing and building the Table Mountain Cableway? The estate still has a warm and fuzzy relationship with the Mother City's proudest jewel, which is why you can purchase De Grendel wines ON Table Mountain from the Table Mountain Café. The best views washed down with the Western Cape's best wines? A winning combo. PLUS You can get half price tickets for the cableway after 6pm until February 28 in their Sunset Special.

#2 Wash Down Oysters With Our Winning Wines at the V&A
The Knysna Oyster Co's oyster bar at the V&A Waterfront’s Food Market is the perfect place to enjoy the freshest oysters with De Grendel MCC Brut, or our other wines which are available at the Food Market. The contemporary 40-square meter stall serves a range of fresh oysters, from Oysters Au Naturale (with lemon and tabasco) to oysters with a dramatic twist like Oysters Pili Pili (paw paw & mango with hints of cilantro & onion).
#3 Make a Meal of It
De Grendel estate is only 15 minutes from Cape Town, but for those who live further afield (we're talking to you Jozi) you can still join in the fun. If a one-on-one Valentine's Dinner seems a bit intimidating for you, get together a group of your friends and share the love at a restaurant that stocks our wines. The Butcher Shop & Grill (as famous for its wine selection as it is for its fine steaks) has some of our best wines on their lists. We recommend the De Grendel Merlot with your perfect fillet. It's a full bodied wine filled with a combination of different berries on the nose. Mulberry, raspberry, and blackberry fruit accompanied by liquorice and mocha flavours that carry through on palate.
