De Grendel is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded with a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence. The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality and quantity of reviews submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, De Grendel maintained an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, and met the requirements for the number of reviews listed on TripAdvisor for the past year.
“De Grendel is all about offering our visitors a memorable experience, whether it is dining at De Grendel Restaurant, or exploring new flavours in our Tasting Lounge. With an unmatchable view of Table Mountain, excellent service and customer focus, we are not surprised but still thankful for all the wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor from our visitors, who range from locals to global travellers,” says Sir De Villiers Graaff.
"With the Certificate of Excellence, TripAdvisor honours hospitality businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings from travellers”, said Heather Leisman, Vice President of Industry Marketing, TripAdvisor. “This recognition helps travellers identify and book properties that regularly deliver great service. TripAdvisor is proud to play this integral role in helping travellers feel more confident in their booking decisions.”

“We would like to thank all of our guests that have taken the time to review our restaurant on TripAdvisor, without them we would not get this recognition from TripAdvisor. We work very hard to produce the best possible experience for our customers and we are very proud of what we do at De Grendel. It is acknowledgement like this that makes all the work so worthwhile,” says Jonathan Davies, Managing Consultant at the De Grendel Restaurant.“For me and the whole team at De Grendel this is a great honor to receive the Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. It’s great to see all the chef’s hard work in the kitchen pays off. We work together extremely well as a team and always look for places where we can improve,” says Chef Ian Bergh.
